Payson is right in the center of Arizona, USA. It is 90 miles to Phoenix and 90 miles to Flagstaff. It is located in the northern part of Gila County. Highway 87 from Phoenix to Payson is four lanes and newly paved.  It takes about 60 minutes to get from Fountain Hills (North East of Phoenix) to Payson. Many people commute each day! (I used to commute that long to work when I lived in Phoenix) It is about one and a half hour drive to Prescott, AZ.
